Cristina Gallach is the spokesperson and chief media advisor to the Office of the High Representative of the EU for the Common Foreign and Security Policy.
She studied Anglo-Germanic Philology and in the Faculty of Journalism at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona before taking a Master’s degree in International Affairs (MIA) at Columbia University, New York.
Previously Cristina worked as the European correspondent of the Spanish News Agency (EFE) in Brussels and for Javier Solano as a deputy spokesperson for NATO and for the Office of the High Representative of the EU. Before her time with NATO and in Brussels she was the Russian correspondent of the Spanish News Agency (EFE) in Moscow. In 2010, she was also the spokesperson for the duration of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of Europe, after which she returned to her present role with the Office of the High Representative of the EU.
Cristina speaks six languages: Catalan and Spanish (mother tongues), English, French, fluent Russian and basic German.
