Michał Sutowski is the coordinator of Krytyka Polityczna’s Institute for Advanced Studies.
A graduate of MISH UW (Kolegium Międzyobszarowych Indywidualnych Studiów Humanistycznych i Społecznych Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego (The College of Humanities and Social Scienes at the University of Warsaw)), he is a political scientist and journalist, specialising in Polish democratic opposition ideology, Russian and German politics and the political thought of Carl Schmitt, Chantal Mouffe and Borys Kagarlicki.
Michał’s translations from English and German include Społeczeństwo otwarte i państwo dobrobytu (The Information Society and the Welfare State) by Castells and Himanen and Wojny klimatyczne (Climate Wars) by Harald Welzer. He has been published in Gazeta Wyborcza and Rzeczpospolita, has written columns for the website Wirtualnej Polski and has featured on Kazimiera Szczuka’s radio programme on Roxy FM. Additionally, he is the secretary of Krytyka Polityczna‘s editorial staff, on the team at Krytyka Polityczna’s publishing house and editor of the political writings of Jacek Kuroń and Stanisław Brzozowski.
