Tariq Ramadan studied philosophy, French literature and social sciences at the University of Geneva, before taking up a highly demanding course in classic Arabic studies at the Al Azhar University in Cairo. After his studies, he wrote a PhD dissertation on Friedrich Nietzsche and presently lectures on contemporary Islamic studies at the University of Oxford. He is the author of more than 20 books, including Facing our Fears and Radical Reform.
