Stanislava Georgieva is a Bulgarian born photographer, with a bachelor in fine arts from the New York based School of Visual Arts, an art history degree from The National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia and an associates degree in commercial photography from the La Guardia Community College, New York.
Although only at the start of her career, Stanislava has already won several awards for her work, notably the New York Photo Award in 2010 and the The Rhodes Family Award for outstanding achievement in photography during her time at the School of Visual Arts.
Stanislava’s work tends to focus on the pluralism of human identities and existences between or straddling two worlds, thus visually reflecting not only her own life as an immigrant, but that of many others in today’s culturally vibrant, globalised world.
