Ifigeneia Kokkali is an urban planner with an MSc in territorial governance and a PhD in social sciences. For her doctorate, she focused on international migration and migrant integration and she has worked as a researcher at university institutes in Greece, France and Italy, on topics ranging from the socio-spatial integration of immigrants, minorities and vulnerable populations in cities, to questions of ethnic and school segregation.
Since 2009, she has taught at several universities, such as the Institut Français d’Urbanisme in Paris, the Department of Planning & Development of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Politechnico di Milano. She has been a project coordinator on several European programmes of research and/or cooperation with a number of partners (e.g. at the Polytechnic School of the University of Florence, the European University Institute, the University of Thessaly etc.).
And, since 2016, she has been working as an appointed expert member to the Working Group for the Management, Coordination and Monitoring of Refugee Education at the Hellenic Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs.
