Žarka Radoja has been in journalism for 17 years. Currently, she is one of the owners and editors of a small regional online media outlet called kontrapress.com. However, she has also worked with numerous other media outlets in Serbia and throughout the Balkans. Žarka has also co-organised three exhibitions – two on the art scenes in Dubrovnik and Belgrade and one looking at refugees in warehouses in Belgrade.
Žarka is also a member of IJAS and the informal Journalist Network, which is working on strengthening the solidarity between colleagues in post-Yugoslav states. For the last two years, she’s been working on migrant routes following refugees on their journeys from Lebanon through Turkey, Greece, Macedonia and Serbia to Croatia.
