Lesia Kulchynska is a researcher at the Department of Film and Television Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and an associate professor in the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. She is also a researcher and curator at the Visual Culture Research Centre. She holds a Master‘s degree in Culture Studies, has written articles on cultural and social issues in a variety of Ukrainian magazines and received her PhD in Film Studies in 2011. She is currently a co-editor of the Ukrainian edition of the Krytyka Polityczna magazine and the guest art editor at the magazine Prostory. In 2015, she also curated the School of the Lonesome exhibition within the framework of the Kyiv Biennale, The School of Kyiv.
