Deyan Deyanov is a member of the Institute of Critical Social Studies at the Paisiy Hilendarski University, Plovdiv. As a senior lecturer in the university’s Critical and Applied Sociology Department, he lectures on formal and philosophical logic, logic and the methodology of humanities, the sociology of everyday life and critical theory.
From 1991 to 1999, Deyan was also the editor-in-chief of the Bulgarian humanities periodical Critique and Humanism and from both 1991 to 2002 and 2010 to 2011 he assumed the role of director of the Institute of Critical Social Studies.
In 2001, Deyan wrote the introduction to the Logic and Methodology of Humanities. Humanities after the “Death of Man” (Plovdiv University Press, Plovdiv 2001) and he has also published numerous articles on critical theory, the historical sociology of socialism and the theory of pragmatic logic.
